After 5 years of shelter life, many of our dog kennels need to be replaced.
The style above is good and we generally need XL and L size for medium to large dogs.
Praktis sells these, currently the XL are selling for around 118 euros and L for around 98 euros – but you may know a cheaper supplier.
We continually need & use 125cm x 250cm 22 mm thick OSB boards and this supplier near us works well (about 34 euros each) – the more OSB boards we have, the better, especially for large outdoor dog houses (when ordering, please arrange to include delivery to our location here):
We use 4 meter long and 3 meter long steel roof sheets (0.45 mm thickness) like these for safer fence barriers between yards – the 4 meter sheets are about 46 euros each and 3 meter are about 34 euros each.
Both sizes are usable and helpful in making our shelter more secure. This is our current supplier but you may know a better/cheaper one (when ordering, please arrange to include delivery to our location here):
Wooden pallets are essential building blocks of our winter/summer houses for outside yards (see image above).
When we use them as fence barriers between yards, ideally the gaps between the wood on the top ‘floor’ of the pallets should be very close together to prevent dogs being able to reach each other:
We can never have enough good pallets (when ordering, please arrange to include delivery to our location here).
Over the years, metal fence panels for our dog yards get worn and break in places.
Therefore, we need to replace these panels when needed.
Our preferred size is 2 meters high x 2.5 meters wide:
We currently need 2 of these for staff and visitors to use.
The above option from Praktiker is a good one.
15 litre buckets are our preferred size and these are around 8 euros each from Homemax.
Summer gets extremely hot at our shelter and 2 of these types of corporate branded umbrellas with a heavy concrete base (to stop getting blown away!) would really help.
For our many older dogs, Yumove Advance is essential for their mobility and can be bought where dog medications are sold.
Max and Kaya suffer from chronical ilnesses.
We took Max from an alcoholic owner who abused Max for nine years. He suffered severe beatings every night, hunger and extreme neglect. Due to all this, he developed a heart condition which we treat daily with Zelys and monitor every six months.
Kaya was found tied to a bench downtown Sofia. She was once someone’s pet and she was abandoned when she developed a health condition. Kaya suffers from Cushing syndrome and has a tumor of the pituitary gland. She takes Vetoryl daily.
The monthly cost of medications for our beloved Max and Kaya amounts to 200 euros.
These medications can be purchased at a discounted rate through our partner veterinary pharmacy, Lora Vet, located at:
